First edition of the two-volume Works, uniformly bound. Like Pope's Homer, the Works were issued in quarto, folio and large folio formats. Griffith notes eleven pieces first printed in volume I, including "Eloisa to Abelard" and the early prose work, "A Discourse on Pastoral Poetry" Griffith 79 & 372; Rothschild 1584 & 1626
