P. F. Collier, New York, 1892, Ten volume set. First Editions. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good+. No dust jacket. 7,233 pp in ten volumes. Text clean, no foxing, lightly yellowed with age, no prior owner attributions or markings in any of the volumes. Illustrated with 54 wood-engravings, including a a depiction of the author on the frontispiece of volume one. Gilting on front cover and spine of each volume shows various evidence of shelfwear. Speckled outer edges.
Volume I has a small tear near tail of spine and contains: The Deerslayer, The Pathfinder and The Pioneers. Volume II contains: Last of the Mohicans, The Prairie and The Spy. Volume III has light markings on rear cover and contains: The Pilot, The Red Rover and The Two Admirals. Volume IV has pages 119-120 partially missing and contains: The Sea Lions, Afloat and Ashore and The Water Witch. Volume V has a large tear in pages 607/608 and two tears on page 717-718 (all tears intact) and contains: The Crater, Miles Wallingford and Homeward Bound. Volume VI contains: Home as Found, The Chainbearer and The Redskins. Volume VII contains: Wyandotte, The Monikins and Jack Tier. Volume VIII contains: Oak Openings, Satanstoe and Mercedes of Castile. Volume IX contains: The Ways of the Hour, Wing and Wing and The Wept of the Wish-Ton-Wish. Volume X contains: The Headsman, Lionel Lincoln, The Bravo and The Heidenmauer.
