Illustrated throughout with line engravings by various artists. A very good bright set in the publishers delux full dark green roan leather Oxford bindings. Spines with five blind ruled bands, dyed black. The compartments are ruled, lettered and decorated in gilt. Boards with triple blind ruled panel and floral corner pieces. Attractive green and white illustrated endpapers. Top edges gilt. Silk bookmarkers sewn into each volume. Some minor rubbing to the edges but overall an attractive set in very good condition. -- Sketches by Boz; Hard Times etc; American notes / Pictures From Italy; Old Curiosity Shop; David Copperfield; Great Expectations; Oliver Twist / Uncommercial Traveller; Barnaby Rudge; Christmas Stories; Little Dorrit; Our Mutual Friend; Nicholas Nickleby; Martin Chuzzlewit; Bleak House; Pickwick Papers; Dombey & Son; Tale of Two Cities; Christmas Books; Master Humphrey's Clock / Edwin Drood; Child's History of England. -- The Bodleian Library gives estimated publication dates of between 1904 and 1916 for the set.
