Hardcover. ex library-fair. 6 vols.: xxiv, [1], 26-294; vi, [1], 2-342; iii, [3], 3-289; vii, [4], ii-iv, 5-277; xii, 282; xiv, [1], 338 p. 18 cm. 12 engraved plates, 4 in each of first three volumes, none in latter 3. First plate in vol. 1 is portrait of Pope. Full leather. Gilt impressing on spines. Burgundy and black spine labels. Ex college library with small reference labels and ink stamps on front pastedowns. Hinges cracked, corners worn, boards stained and scuffed, cracks in spines, a few chips to spine labels. Most of lower label in vol. 3 is missing. Ink signatures on two front endpapers. Foxing. Dampstains in vol. 6. Vol. 4 has hole in margins of title and next leaf.
Vol. 1: Juvenile Poems, Translations and Imitations. Vol.: II: Satires, Essay on Man, Moral Essays, Miscellaneous Pieces in Verse. Vol. III: The Dunciad in Four Books. Vol. IV: Miscellanies in Prose and Part of his Letters. Vol. V: Letters to and from Mr. Pope. Vol. VI: The Last of His Letters and Will. Set is complete as issued but does not include Pope's translations of Homer.
