Green ribbon bookmarks in each volume. Title pages printed in red and black. Volume one illustrated with a frontispiece and with two plates; volume two with four plates; volume three with eight plates; volume four with three plates; volume five with one plate bound as a frontispiece and with four additional plates; volume six with one plate. Every volume with engraved tailpieces. In nine volumes complete, with his last corrections, additions, and improvements; as they were delivered to the editor a little before his death. Together with the commentary and notes of Mr. Warburton. Lowndes 1913-1914. Rothschild 1587 cites the 1736 edition of Pope's works, the first octavo edition. Wikipedia, "Thomas Aynscombe". The second Warburton edition. The name of Valentina Aynscombe, the date 1754 under her name, on each front pastedown except for the first. Valentina Aynscombe was the granddaughter and sole heir to Thomas Aynscombe, an eighteenth-century landlord of the London area. Thomas Aynscombe was famous for marrying one of the members of the Chew family, a famous family of benefactors, whose house still stands today. Boards significantly touched up, some rubbing to the extremities (part of the lettering on the upper label of volume four is rubbed away).
