Work of Art is one of Sinclar Lewis' lesser-known novels, but it carries on his comic skewering of American culture, following three generations of the Weagle family as they work in various inns, hotels, and boarding houses. Through the two characters, Lewis explored themes of the self-made man, the American habit of seeing work as an identity, and the pursuit of prosperity. Work of Art asks questions about what people owe one another, both professionally and morally. E-47; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 452 pages .
