Curiously, four small black marker pen dots on bottom of text block (perhaps inadvertant, perhaps deliberate), otherwise book is clean, unmarked and tightly bound. Dust jacket, which has wrap-around illustration) is tanned on front panel, more so on the spine panel, and has 3/4" tear bottom of rear spine panel and associated creases. Story of pioneer bush pilot Wilfred "Wop" May who flew in Canada's uncharted North.. First Edition. Hard Cover in Dust Jacket. Near Fine/Very Good. Illus. by William Wheeler.

A Fine copy in equally Fine dust jacket with very minor wear to the spine ends. May was a legendary figure in early Canadian aviation whose exploits included service with the Royal Flying Corps in World War I, aiding in the search for Albert Johnson, the Mad Trapper of Rat River, and flying through a blizzard to deliver diphtheria medicine to a remote northern community. An entertaining look at a larger-than-life Canadian folk hero.
