Edited by Patience Empson. Introduction by Thomas Balston. More than 1000 wood block prints are presented with a number of hitherto unpublished engravings. "When available, the original wood blocks were used for the making of the electros, but where the wood blocks have vanished, line blocks have wherever possible been made from hand pulls." Books illustrated with engravings by Robert Gibbings. A loving tribute to Gibbings who died January 1958. With publisher's six page promotional piece printed in red and black laid-in.
