Bound in maroon leather, decoration in blind with additional elaborate decoration and titles in gilt, 2 volumes, complete. 911 pp. Illustrated with 14 coloured plates and 492 reproductions in black and white, including many unique photographs of recent discoveries. Harry Johnston, was a British explorer, botanist, artist, colonial administrator and linguist who traveled widely in Africa and spoke many African languages. Colour frontispieces. All edges speckled. Top edge soiled. Edge and corner wear. A few pages have repaired worm holes that do not affect text. Hinges sound. No writing inside. Very good.. Leather. Very Good. Illus. by Illustrated. 4to.
