About This Item
New York: Burgess, Stringer & Co, 1887. 38, [1] pp. Fair condition in later boards. Loman (1812-1878) was born and England but eventually became one of the best-known abortionists in New York city. She and her husband also sold patent medicines and birth control. Loman was tried and imprisoned for a for providing an abortion for a whom who died a s a result. Years later Comstock harassed her, and she killed herself.
