About This Item

El Paso: Texas Western Press / University of Texas at El Paso, 1983. Paperback. 79p., illustrated with a half dozen or so period photographs reproduced reasonably well, softbound in 9x6 inch journal-type wraps. Covers are slightly dimmed with age but quite sound, text is clean except for a tiny smudge to front endsheets, and free of any markings. Note that African American women get three of the six photos, one is of a "Witchita Squaw", and two of a charismatic white settler. Laid in is a UC Berkeley letterhead TLs to a prospective reviewer, accompanied by a pagelong instruction sheet of book review protocols. Southwestern Studies monograph no. 70.
