Reviews
On Mar 16 2014, a reader said:
I was expecting a history textbook when I picked this one up - but it's far beyond that. Benstock covers not only the lives and work of the writers, but dips into feminist analysis of the studies of the Modernists and of the artistic culture of the era. Although it's probably not a good introductory book on the era, it is great to expand one's view of what it was like to be a woman living and writing in Paris of the Belle Époque.
