First edition, first printing, one of 1,250 copies only,
Illustrated with 10 color illustrations. a color frontispice with silver background, an illustrated title page and 14 full page chapter headings each with a different golden woman's silhouette . Bound in brown half leather with gilded spine with 5 raised bands. Decorated endpapers. Pages slightly browned , but clean and undamaged. Binding tight and solid, boards have some light shelf wear, La Femme et le pantin (The Woman and the Puppet) was written in 1898 by Pierre Louÿs.
