London: Nicol & Cadell, 1784. First Edition. Near Fine. [Illus. 9x7in on 21x15.25in Sheet]; printed with J. Webber del on bottom left and W. Sharp sculp on bottom right; Minor age toning to sheet along edges with several small closed tears on edges not affecting print, prior owner repair to crease fold closed tear not affecting print, horizontal fold crease through print. [Beddie 1543 and 1744, Joppien 3.266 and 3.287]. Two striking portraits of the Oonalashka (Unalaska) peoples on the Alaskan peninsula. Note the details and ornamentation of both. This was the Third and last of James Cook's voyages over a twelve year period, The three voyages from 1768 to 1780 "discovered" and significantly added to the knowledge of the islands and peoples of the South and North Pacific.

John Webber (1752-1793) was the official artist that accompanied Captain Cook on the third voyage of the Resolution and Discovery, 1776-1780. This voyage was to the islands of the Pacific, Australia, the Pacific Northwest America, Alaska, Kamchatka and Hawaii. In Hawaii, Cook was killed in a misunderstanding with the natives at Kealakekua Bay.
