About This Item
The Century Co. NY. 1901. First Printing., 1901 "Dark blue ribbed cloth with front cover and spine gilt lettering. 274 pages. 8vo. In his Preface the author states: "This work is designed to serve the purposes of a general view of the legal condition of women of the United States at the present time,---". The subject is presented in three parts: Domestic Relations--Divorce, Marriage, Children, etc.; Property Relations--Marriage and its various rights; Public Relations--Suffrage, Alien women, employment, protection, women as attorneys, etc. A valuable book presenting the legal position of women in the various states at the time: I probably shouldn't say this but what the heck--"You've come a long way, baby." An absolutely amazing read if you didn't know how few rights women had in those days. A very scarce book and invaluable for the library of any person concerned with women's rights. Covers edges rubbed; couple of tips worn through; old ink price on FFEP. GOOD Language: eng Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng Language: eng Language: eng". 1st Edition.. Hardcover. Good.
