About This Item

John Long Limited, [1929] 1929. G+/VG-. 1st Edition. 14.2 x 22.2 cm red boards with gilt stamped titles to the spine, 223[1]pp with 16 photographic illustrations in 12 pages. With original unclipped dust jacket priced at 12/6 net. The boards have some mottling to the fore edges and head of the spine, possibly the result of water damage. There is some cockling to the cloth on the rear board and ding on the middle of the rear fore edge and a similar one 8cm down on the rear joint. There is a 3.5 cm split extending from the top of the rear joint but the binding remains firm. Internally the book is clean, with just an ownership name stamped on the title page and there is a some faint spotting to the edge of the text block. The dust jacket which, is now protected in a removable, clear cover (not shown), is somewhat marked and spotted. There is loss at the head of the spine between 1.5 to 2 cm and to a much lesser extent from the foot. There is minor loss to the top corner on the front panel and of around 2cm from the bottom front corner. Despite its faults this is a very scarce book about pioneering female flyers in its even scarcer dust jacket. Rainford & Parris Books welcomes enquiries, so please do not hesitate to ask if you require further images or have any questions. All books are packaged with great care.
