___DESCRIPTION: Bound in full aubergine paper over boards, gold lettering and publisher's device stamped onto the spine, stated First U.S. edition on the copyright page with full lettered line below, beginning with "A"; octavo size (9 3/8" by 6 3/8"), pagination: [i-iv] v-xxxii [2] 1-459. In the publisher's dust jacket with the original printed price of $35.00, summary of the book on the front flap, short bios of Arendt and Blücher on the back flap.
___CONDITION: Volume fine overall, with clean boards, straight corners without rubbing, a strong, square text block with solid hinges, the interior is clean and bright, and entirely free of prior owner markings; top corners gently bumped, else fine. The dust jacket near fine, all component parts present and attached, clean, no rips or tears, just a slight amount of edgewear mostly at the head and tail of the spine.
