About This Item
Franklin Library, 1984. First Edition. Full Leather. Near Fine+/No Jacket as Issued. A handsome dark green leather First Edition of John Updike's popular book, signed by the author. With marbled endpapers, gold gilt cover designs and page edges, and bound-in silk bookmark. Two very minor marks on the page edges not affecting the gilt; otherwise fine and unread with no sign the bookmark has ever been moved. This book was made into the successful movie by the same name starring Jack Nicholson as Daryl Van Horne, alongside Cher, Susan Sarandon, and Michelle Pfeiffer. John Updike is the recipient of almost every major artistic and literary honor, including the National Medal of the Arts and the Pulitzer Prize for Literature (twice).
