Pp. xviii+830(last blank), frontispiece plus 21 plates, appendices, index; thick med. 8vo; maroon cloth, spine blocked in black and lettered in gilt, the cloth flecked, with spots of fading on spine; top edges maroon; dust wrapper, browned and soiled, edges worn with several small splits and chips, the laminate lifting slightly along backstrip folds; book label of David Levine, Sydney, on upper pastedown, name stamp on upper free endpaper, the edges of leaves lightly browned and foxed, top fore-corner of several leaves creased; Constable, London, 1966. First edition. Woods p. 347 *Charles McMoran Wilson, first Baron Moran of Manton, became Churchill's doctor in 1940. From 1941 to 1950 he was President of the Royal College of Physicians.
