About This Item
Kenosha, Wisconsin: John Martin's House, 1946. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. Page, Helen. The beloved Pooh characters were given a new look here by children's book illustrator/paper doll artist Helen Page, whose soft watercolor drawings here are alternatively charming & fresh/weird & somewhat creepy. Unpaginated. , but decidedly different than either the E. H. Shepard originals or the later Disney renditions! A FIRST EDITION, first printing with these pictures (First, thus) from 1946, this hardcover small 4to has brightly decorated paper over boards & is in Good condition: downgraded because paper covering spine is completely missing, so the front & back covers are a bit shaky without that stability. Else, very clean & bright, stitched binding strong & straight, all pages secure, creamy white with mild tanning, but unmarked save for old gift inscription in small neat pen to title page. Moderate rubbing to extremities, heavier to corners & in a few spots along fore edge side, with some paper loss. No DJ. Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same Day Shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Weekdays (Pacific); later orders, Weekends & holidays ship very next business day.
