Pale blue cloth-covered boards, gilt titles on spine. Lightly bumped spine heel. Signed and inscribed by author 'For Bob Randall, (15th Glider Service Echelon) Best Wishes Leslie Dawson. June 1990.' . Also, laid in, is a signed letter from the author to 'Bob' thanking him for his interesting anecdotes, etc. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Dust jacket has some light shelf wear, chipping to top edge, price unclipped. Takes the study of local history to new heights, telling the story of the flying machines that have shaped the development of the twentieth century as the author shows that Dorset was at the forefront in the trials of new technology, from the beginnings of aviation through the making of radar to the application of military flight-refuelling. Illustrated throughout with many remarkable photographs, the bulk of them previously unpublished. A large and heavy volume which will require an additional charge for overseas delivery. 4to.
