About This Item
1939. Soft cover. Very Good. The interior of the magazine is clean and tight, with bright paper. The illustrated paper covers are in very good condition overall, but have light reading wear and one short (less than 1/2 inch) tear near the bottom right corner. The attached scan should give a better idea of condition. Synopsis: Each monthly issue contains a mix of short stories (mostly mystery and adventure), verse, and current affairs, with many attractive vintage illustrations. Partial contents: -- The silver buckle, by James Norman Hall; -- The celadon dish, by Catherine Wright; -- The outcast, by Frank R. Grey; -- Mr. Syme, by Bruce Bairnsfather; -- London River in Winter, by L. M. Bates; -- An affair of honour, by Dudley Hoys; -- Mr. Syme, by Bruce Bairnsfather; -- Oriental venture: a tale of the N.I.D., by Sea-Wrack; -- Prince and pregudice, by A. R. V. Nelson-Smith; -- The outrageous generation, by Hilda Sylvaine
