About This Item
Boston: Little, Brown and Company, 1971. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Fair. 1971 Little, Brown and Company Stated First Edition with T11/71 on the copyright page. A true first in VG/F condition. The HB is square, brightly colored and tight with no slant, markings or writing. There are very light 5 cm concentric circles on the front board just to the right of the black spine cloth, probably from the resting of the same cup, but only barely diminishes the crimson color (see photo). The DJ has professionally repaired tears, and paper loss along the edges as well as a few large chips small tears and tears along the edges and spine ends. Underneath this corrected dust jacket is a second dust jacket that almost completely fills in the loss from the top jacket (see photo). Now repaired professionally & protected in mylar. Please note: we have sold multiple copies of this classic work and have not found one intact dust jacket. Moreover in our book finding, we notice that this book jacket rarely survives intact, but appears to have also suffered from the winds of war. Adapted by the author for the classic 1983 TV limited series directed by Dan Curtis and starring Robert Mitchum, Ali McGraw, and a distinguished supporting cast,
