Boards worn along edges with some general scuffing; rubbing and fading to spine. Spine cocked, with nudging at head and tail and a couple vertical creases and general smudging. Front board a bit shaky and front hinge worn with probable repair from previous owner, but binding is holding. Bookplate of W.H. Smith and Sons Library of London to front pastedown with no other institutional markings present. Pages otherwise unmarked.
Synopsis
The superlatively analytical Inspector Hemingway is confronted by a murder that seems impossible—no one was near the murder weapon at the time the shot was fired.
