New York / London: The Macmillan Company, 1900. Limited and numbered large paper edition in the scarce linen cloth dust jacket titled in gilt and publisher's slipcase with printed paper spine label. This is number 83 of 150 copies bound in undressed white kid leather, gilt top, uncut. One hundred illustrations including nine full-page in photogravure. Ex-libris bookplate of John Needels Chester (1864-1955) and booksellers catalog description tipped to bottom of the front pastedown. The John Needels Chester Rare Book & Manuscript Library is housed at The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Half-title page has a tipped printed Shakespeare quote and tipped example of the author's bookplate. Signed by Mabie on the colophon followed by a tipped in portrait of the author drawn by George T. Tobin. The portrait appears cropped and may or may not be original to the book? Hinges just slightly starting, still firmly bound, with clean and unmarked text. See photos.. Limited Edition.
