Half red morocco with gilt rule and marbled boards; 5 raised bands and gilt detailing to spine. Marbled endpapers; top edge gilt. Bound by Rose Bindery, Boston. Extensively illustrated with many engravings, portraits, and the like, some in full color. India paper proofs of Knight's text in only fair condition. Light wear to exterior (see image). Volume 2 has water damage to base of interior at spine. 12 x 17 inches.
