Baltimore: The Arundel Press. John S. Bridges & Co, 1914. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good. Folio. 153 pages. Frontispiece engraved portrait of William Painter. Illustrated with numerous photographs and photograph portraits and illustrations. Burgundy cloth hardcover with gilt stamped title and decorations on the front cover. Thick floral decorative end sheets. Light rubs to cloth extremities. Inscribed by the author on the verso of the right front flyleaf, "To Mrs. William W. Janney, from her sincere friend Orrin C. Painter, Feb. 9, 1915." William Painter, a native of Maryland held 85 patents between 1858-1908. Contents include photographs of Baltimore, various localities where products were manufactured, pictures of the Omaha Indians (where Emilie Painter Jackson, who was married to William Jackson, stayed with the tribe for 3 years), and illustrations of inventions.
