About This Item

Winchester: Warren and Son, 1941. First edition. Cloth. Very Good/Good Only. 9" by 6". Various. A first edition of this absorbing biography about 18th century botanist, apothecary, and entomologist William Curtis. Found in scarce dust wrapper. Author W. Hugh Curtis draws on the letters of the botanist and apothecary William Curtis in this interesting biography. With 17 illustrations, including a folding plate of the Curtis pedigree to the rear, collated and complete. Found in its original dust wrapper. In the publisher's original blue cloth binding, found with the original price clipped dust wrapper, wrapped in protective plastic. A white mark to each board, with some very light bumping to the head and tail of the spines, and some minor wear to the extremities. Some of the wrap is missing to the tail of the spine, more so to the head. The corner of the wrap is missing towards the fore edge too. Internally, firmly bound. Lightly foxed to the endpapers and plates, but pages are otherwise bright and clean. Very Good
