About This Item
London: Hodder & Stoughton, 1913 . Cloth. Very Good. 8" by 5.5". Ernest Thompson Seton. The second edition of this wildlife study across America and particularly around the Yellowstone Park. Second edition of Wild Animals At Home by Ernest Thompson Seton in the original publisher's pictorial cloth binding.A lovely work exploring the wildlife of America and particularly Yellowstone National Park, the first national park in the world being established in 1872. Ernest Thompson Seton was an author and wildlife artist, and was a founding pioneer of Boy Scouts and influenced Lord Baden-Powell in their establishment. Densely illustrated by the author with many in-text illustrations and forty eight monochrome plates. Collated, complete. Prior owner's ink inscription to the first free endpaper. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. There are some light marks to the boards. The hinges are slightly strained but firm. Prior owner's ink inscription to the first free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the odd spot. Very Good
