About This Item
Firm copy colors are bright -extra heavy covers not just usual paperback previous owners name first page balance of the interior is clean – although as anything of this stage there is some tanning on the edges of its pages – a little minutia – the corners are slightly bumped and there is minimal chipping on its edges – the spine is not heavily creased – interestingly enough there's an actual bookmark from probably the release of this edition included-I doubt if there are any new used books from 1966-just well preserved copies--Story lines are still fresh and compelling- Amusing- This writer has left a body of work that transcends modern preoccupations. -The story is told by Jim Calder, a cousin, just outside the charmed circle enough to see what goes on, and yet serving as an ever helpful need in time of trouble. An introverted study of the insidious disease of family worship, humorous, yet sad – Interesting, clever, not so subtly cruel. A book that should reach a wider market on its own appeal than the defined circle of those who are New England or who boast an intimate knowledge of the hub of the universe. ""George Apley"" -real person- recognizable as such -Recognition i is concerned with points of view, & the assurance that ""the Brills"" are above suspicion, beyond reproach, can go anywhere, know anyone, and do -- or not do --what they choose. Clothilde, spider in the center of the web, spins her threads charmingly and in deadly certainty. - Pictures included for your review – aid decision process--Ruth Reaser..LAXVespa Los Angeles /Culver City-sent media mail –- questions can be answered via customer service phone or customer emailing message services -gift delivery instructions-alternative expedited deliveries need to be requested & adjusted price wise...-you get the copy you were viewing carefully packed to protect it from damage in transit.
