Illustrated dustwrapper (wraparound), by James Marsh, with white coloured titles to the front panel and the spine. Rubbing to the dustwrapper, particularly the back panel and a little creasing to the top and bottom and dustwrapper edges. On the front panel there is a insert saying "Whitbread Children's Novel Category Winner, 1989". "According to the Clock in Central Hall the date Is Wed. Four Years, 81 Days from Hostilities." -- Two children Saxon and Gilbert, live in the Coffeeshop and share their world with spiders and the Brogan. Both creatures fill the children with loathing.
