About This Item
IWC pamphlet no 46
16 pages.
Card cover with very slight rubbing to the spine. Pages age-toned, clean and unmarked.
Sets out the case for keeping open the Litton Industries' (Imperial Typewriters) factories in Hull and Leicester – focusing particularly upon the social impact in Hull that would follow the Hull plant closure. Produced by an Action Committee formed during the weekend following the Friday afternoon management announcement of the factory closure (transferring production to West Germany), the pamphlet was written at a time when the then (Labour) Government had agreed to consider a feasibility study for keeping the production plants open.
