Daniel Mainwaring (1902-1977) writing as Homes wrote a series of mystery novels before going on to a career as Hollywood screenwriter for films including The Big Steal, This Woman is Dangerous (starring Joan Crawford) and the original version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. First edition (first printing). A near fine copy in black cloth with yellow lettering. Edge wear along lower spine. Some tanning in gutters. In a dust jacket with light fading to the spine and some loss at the head not affecting text, tear to the flap fold and a 2-inch tear at top of front edge.
