Written by a Cape Town lawyer, this novel is set in Central Africa featuring a woman, Lavinia Whittaker, a woman of ruthless sophistication set against her ranching partner, Joe Latham, a battle royal for power ensues. The climax of the story is a lion hunt in which the emotions of the hunting party- at first civilized and controlled- are transformed and intensified by the perilous realities of the hunt itself. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
