Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1889. First. Hard Cover. First edition. Light cloth over gilt stamped paper covered boards.Illustrated with drawings by the author. LAID IN IS A SHORT HANDWRITTEN NOTE FROM SMITH TO A FRIEND CONCERNING A VISIT, DATED 1895. One side on folded notepaper, with additional mailing fold. The book has significant soiling to the spine, the cloth and is rubbed about the edges.
