About This Item
New York: George Braziller, 1991. First American Edition. First Printing. Octavo; black paper over boards, quarterbound in white cloth with titles stamped in gilt on the spine; 161pp. Fine in a Fine, unclipped dustjacket. The Turkish Nobel Prize-winner's first novel. While the book was successful enough to merit a second printing within the year of publication, as the author was virtually unknown to English language readers, the first printing was miniscule - little more than 1,000 copies.
Synopsis
Orhan Pamuk is the author of seven novels and the recipient of major Turkish and international literary awards. He is one of Europe's most prominent novelists, and his work has been translated into twenty-six languages. He lives in Istanbul.
