About This Item
In 1963, an Italian company gathered together the works of various artists and published them as a series called The Great Artists: A library of their lives, times and paintings.
In 1978, Funk & Wagnalls published them in the US.
Each book is the same: 10" x 14", high quality images and paper, an essay on the life of the artist, and then several color plates, most of which can be cut out and framed. There is a short paragraph about each painting as well.
I have Gainsborough, Vermeer, Whistler, and Monet, all listed here separately.
I bought them in 1978 but haven't opened them until just now. They are all in mint condition, save for a little bit of darkening to the edges of the covers only.
You can buy one or all--if you want more than one, message me.
The plates in this one are:
At the Piano
The Thames in Ice
Blue and Silver: The Blue Wave, Biarritz
Symphony in White No 1, The White Girl
Symphony in White No 2, The Little White Girl
Rose and Silver: La Princesse du Pays de La Porcelaine
Symphony in Gray and Green: The Ocean
Variations in Blue and Green
Harmony in Gray and Green: Miss Cicely Alexander
