They are both struggling to find their place in the world, and are looking for something to help them find a purpose. Sophie is a art historian, and Ophelia is a chemist. They meet, and Sophie tells Ophelia about a book she's been working on, which is about the life and work of a chemist named Justus von Liebig. Sophie and Ophelia decide to travel to Germany to find von Liebig's grave, and they are also hoping to find some answers to their own questions. Along the way, they meet a number of interesting people, and they all play a part in helping them find their way. Ultimately, the women find that they have a lot in common, and they are able to share some of their wisdom with each other.; 8vo; $6.50 .
