About This Item
New York: Funk & Wagnalls, 1968. First American Edition . Hardcover. Very Good +/Very Good +. The interior of the book is crisp and clean, showing no marks or wear. The blue cloth covers are fresh, with just a touch of wear at tips and corners. The dust jacket is also in excellent condition. It is not price-clipped and has very minor wear -- no tears, chips or damage. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover and looks very attractive. Synopsis: Little Kirstine's life is quiet and hum-drum at the mill with her grandfather, the miller, and their orange cat Marmalade. She longs for the wonders of a freer world, and when the Old Man of the Stile sets her adrift in a willow-reed boat pulled by great wild geese, she gets it. With her companion, Peter, they search for his father, and have wonderful adventures. In the end, though, she returns with the wild geese to her home and grandfather.
