Description:
New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1892.. Publishers quarter vellum and boards, t.e.g., others untrimmed. Binding somewhat soiled and worn, former owner's bookplate, otherwise a very good copy. Cloth folding box. First edition, limited issue. One of an unknown number of out of series copies, unnumbered, in addition to 250 numbered copies, signed by the publisher. In this copy, on a sheet of matching handmade paper inserted in place of the front free endsheet Field has neatly copied out his poem, "Little Boy Blue," in red and black ink, in his diminutive hand, with rubricated initials at the beginning of each stanza and two small hand-colored drawings (a toy soldier and a toy lamb) in the margins. Beneath the poem is his presentation inscription, which reads: "For My Dearest and Most Beautiful Julia, Ever yours devotedly, / Eugene Field." On integral blank leaves at the back of the volume the author has written out his poem, "Dutch Lullaby" (beginning "Wynken, Blynken and Nod one night / Sailed off in…

- first
Harper & Row, 1963. Brown cloth spine over pictorial boards, 4-color endsheets, DJ design matching boards. Very interesting second issue, with LOC number on title page, Caldecott medal pasted, not printed, on and $3.50 price on jacket (code 40-80 / 1163). Back flap of DJ is the revised text, including mention of the Caldecott award. Book very good with aging to boards at edges, light pulling to front pastedown but otherwise clean. DJ also very good with one small open tear at front panel, wear and beginnings of chipping to DJ folds, light soil. Very few copies left of this vintage. Collectors will note that, since one DJ flap was revised and the other was not, this is possibly a unique first-and-a-half state copy. Unpaginated.. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good.

Fred Rogers: First Experiences Book Series: Going To the Doctor (1986 1st Ed. 3rd Pr. Thus, G.P. Putnam)RARE in this first hardcover edition. Quite the find. Used. VG/VG condition unclipped dust jacket, printed price $12.95 Mr. Rogers appears on the back dj panel wearing a pale blue sweater. "In this book, real life photos are used to help young people feel more comfortable with interacting with other children and making new friends. A Note From Fred Rogers: A child's first visit with a pediatrician usually comes soon after birth. It may be months or even years later, though, that a child first shows fear about going to see a doctor. The worry of an injection or some other unfamiliar medical procedure can trigger that fear. It can also appear because another family member may be feeling medical anxieties.
