This later printing followed the 1904 Arthur Rackham illustrated edition. Measures 5 1/2" x 7 3/4". Red w/green and violet floral-like patterned cover and spine, black stamped cover and spine titles on green fields, some shelf wear, rub, discoloration. Brightly colored frontispiece painting features British expeditionary officer holding binoculars w/variety of soldiers in b.g.: "Outposts of Empire." Leaves generally good, varying toning. Aqua monochromatic endpapers of boy and girl gazing on scene of knight and dame on horse, native w/settler, and castle in hilly b.g. Light blue printed prize plate inside cover: "1922. st. Mark's Parish Sunday Schools. 1st Prize Presented to 'Willis Rose' For Good Attendance, 'Mr. C. J. Tyler,' Superintendant Mr. J. Shoemake, Secretary Rev. W. J. E. Jones, Vicar. Trerise, Printer, Swansea". String-bind good, intact. Solid example of this classic volume with unique frontis.
