Arthur H. Stockwell, London, 1909. First Edition. Hardcover. Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Size: 12mo <7 3/4". 159 pp. Binding firm, spine faded and slightly cocked. Foxing front/rear pages, but body of book mostly clean and unfoxed. Edges foxed and browned. Covers slightly marked. Corners slightly bumped. An anti-feminist Satire, whose protagonist awakes in Near Future 1930, where the disastrous consequences of allowing female suffrage are all too evident; eventually, the men revolt, and the women, having learned their lesson, return happily to their domestic duties. Though its circulation was limited (the publisher Arthur H Stockwell was a vanity press) the tale aroused mild attention. (The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction) Contains frontispiece.
