Purple cloth boards, sunned/age-toned on spine and at top-edge of both boards, slight fraying of cloth at each end of spine, minimal edge-wear; Pages age-toned, rough-cut bottom and fore-edges, offsetting on endpapers, previous owner's dedication in pencil on ffep, sparse foxing throughout text block, B&W plates, all present; Binding strained, several pages loose including two of the plates [facing 146 and 246]. Millicent Garrett Fawcett was a political activist and writer who campaigned for women's suffrage, becoming the leader of Britain's largest women's rights institution at the end of the 19th century. ; 6 x 9"; 273 pages .
