Alan Sutton. 1990 1st edition.. Size 9.75 x 9.25 inches. In dark blue cloth covers with gilt to spine. With illustrated dustwrapper. Maps to endpapers. In very good condition with very good dustwrapper (dw; very slightly creased along top edge. Price clipped). Neat inscription to half title page, dated 1993. Else a clean and tight copy. 191pp. With b/w and colour plates. The author has taken as his definition of Wessex, the two counties of Dorset and Wiltshire. He quotes from various writers from the past and illustrates his book with modern and old photographs and old prints.

The village has a by-pass now which means there is easy access to the village and ample space for parking. Our shop is directly on the main road through the village.
