Title in red and black. 50 half-page copper engravings by C.Luyken, engraved endpieces. Professionally rebacked. Wear to calf, worse at edges (loss of most of the outer edge dentelle). Ink notations and pencil scribbles to front pastedown, pencil notations to rear pastedown. Ink inscription to head of title page. Staining to interior. Abraham a Sancta Clara [born Johann Ulrich Megerle,1644-1709] was an Augustinian monk and author of popular devotional books. [New Advent Catholic Encyclopedia].
