Brown cloth with gilt-stamped lettering and black-stamped design on the front cover, which is repeated in blind stamping on the rear cover. Mild to moderate wear to the extremities, heavy wear at the lower corners. A loosening signature near the beginning of the book, otherwise the rest of the pages are bound tight. Yellow, patterned endpapers. 283 pages. Charles Carroll Goodwin was a lawyer and editor at the Tribune in Salt Lake City, Utah. As an author, he is remembered for his stories about people and events during Comstock mining days in Nevada such as The Comstock Club (1891) and The Wedge of Gold (1893)..
