About This Item

UK,thick 8vo HB+dw/dj,1st edn. FINE-/FINE-. No owner inscrptn and no price-clip to dw/dj.Bright,crisp, clean, glossy, colour pictorial artwork illustration by Tim White, illustrated dw/dj,with author's capitalised,gilt-lettered name and capitalised,white-lettered title and strap line to front of dw/dj; spine/backstrip with similarly coloured+lettered author's name and title as the front's,and publisher's capitalised, white lettered+ illustrated name and colophon respectively,to foot of same, rear panel of dw/dj with continuation of illustration and barcode adhesive label stuck on bottom, lower edge.Negligible and minimal shelf-wear, bumping, creasing to edges and corners – but no nicks, tears or splits present - and some inevitable age-acquired but very minimal, superficial scoring/indents to spine+panels, but again, without any penetration to boards beneath.Top+bottom edges very light ageing /toning and fore-edges slightly brighter, but all without foxing/spotting; contents bright, tight, clean, solid and sound – near pristine,no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corner tips – appears unread, apart from my own collation.Publisher's bright, crisp, clean, unblemished,sharp-cornered,original plain red cloth boards with bright, crisp, blocked gilt lettering to spine/backstrip,and immaculate plain white endpapers. UK, thick 8vo HB+dw/dj,1st edn,5-721pp [paginated] includes BOOKS 1-3 comprising Pts sub-divided into varying numbers of chapters each; plus [unpaginated] half-title,thumbnail b/w illustrated title page,a dedication with an epigram (Saint Exupery -The Wisdom of the Sands) to its verso,a Contents list/table; individual Book's separator pages and Pts separator pages with an epigram to each, and to the rear,2pp blanks. Visually the exterior appearance is exceptional and particularly internally,is also in an exceptional condition/state of preservation and presentation, for a book of its 35+ year-old age. It is only the minimal faults described that prevents a slightly higher grading overall.Despite that,it really is still an exceptional, exenplary example for its cleanliness, brightness and lack of detracting faults. 'Weaveworld' is an epic adventure of the imagination. It begins with a carpet in which a world of rapture and enchantment is hiding in a world which comes back to life, alerting the dark forces from which it was hiding, and beginning a desperate battle to preserve the last vestiges of magic which Humankind still has access to. Mysteriously drawn by the carpet and into the world it represents are Cal Mooney and Suzanna Parrish, two young people with no knowledge of what they are about to live through and confront. For the final conflict between the forces of good - the Seerkind - and of evil, embodied by the terrible Immacolata and her ravening twin wraith sisters,is about to take place. 'Weaveworld' is a book of visions and horrors,as real as the world we live and breathe in,yet opening doors to experience, places and people that we all dream of,but daren't hope are real.It is a story of quest,of titanic struggles,of love and of hope.It is a triumph of imagination and storytelling,an adventure,a nightmare, a promise . . .
