This is a meaningful presentation copy, inscribed by the poet on the title page: "For Marie Bullock, with thanks and affection after so many years, Jane, January 13, 1983." The recipient was the founder and longtime director of the Academy of American Poets, which administers the Lamont Selections (The award has since been renamed in honor of publisher and poet James Laughlin).
