About This Item
Miyanoshita, Japan: Fujiya Hotel, 1937. 1st . Paperback. Very Good. First printing. 207 pages, 389 illustrations, mostly photos, index, octavo format, side-stitched into silvery patterned silk covers, in a cream linen three-panel folding portfolio case, with floral decoration and paper spine label, secured with ivory clasps. A superb production. Book itself is in New unread condition. The case shows some soiling from handling but is not overly worn, nor damaged. LAID IN: four original Fujiya Hotel menus from 1935 and 1938 with interesting educational material on the back about Japanese art, proverbs, etc. The original owner of the book was a Canadian diplomat in Tokyo in the 1930s.
