About This Item
Text is clean and unmarked in a square, bright, and tight binding. Price unclipped DJ has some wear around the edges with a small chip out of the top spine. Back of DJ is smudged. Written at the top of the front free end paper, "Book find - 10-27-48." with a price 1.79. From the front DJ flap, "This is an account of how we lost a fight for democracy at home while winning a victory over fascism on the battlefield of Europe and Asia. The fight we lost was fought in Washington, and the issue was how American business and the American people were to be organized for the super-human production effort that was required for victory. The fight was between those that believed a democracy at war should be a cooperative effort of all the people, of big and little business and labor alike, and those who wanted a limited war to be fought in such a way as not to threaten any vested interest of big business or any privilege of the War or State Departments."
